How is Sports Therapy treatment different?
Sports therapy treatment often goes beyond the typical chiropractic treatment and incorporates some form of active muscle therapy to get joints and muscles working together to provide the best possible environment for the injury to heal.

The 2 most commons forms of Sports Therapy treatment are known as Active Release Therapy and GRASTON technique.

Our highly trained doctors are well versed in these techniques and are able to treat a wide range of sports injuries with them. When some form of muscle therapy is added to traditional chiropractic adjustments we are treating the body as it naturally moves. Muscles and joints move the body together, not individually, so a treatment that focuses on Both of those systems will get you back to sport/activity faster with the best possible outcomes.

Adjustments
Chiropractic adjustments can be used along the neck, back, spine. They properly align the vertebrae in your spine, which can help to reduce stiffness and pain. Realignment from manipulation can reduce and remove stress and pressure on joints, muscles and nerves and can result in immediate relief.

However in some cases with sports injuries, the extremities must be adjusted due to the nature of the injury. Most common extremity adjustments are, Feet/Ankles, Wrists, Elbows, Shoulders, and Hips.

Active Muscle release
This therapy incorporates patient movement to relax tight muscles and release the fascia over the muscle, allowing extremities and the spine to move better resulting in pain relief. It also promotes the flow of blood to the region thus aiding in tissue healing.

Massage therapy
Massage therapy helps to increase blood flow and oxygen to the shoulder muscles while also stretching and relaxing the muscles. This can result in pain relief and help your muscles to heal themselves.

Graston technique
If your joint pain is a result of tearing and scarring, then this technique may be used. It uses a metal  chiropractic tool to break up scar tissue and increase the range of motion in the shoulder.
Common sports injury like sprained ankle can be treated with active release and extremity chiropractic adjustments
